Going Back Through Time!
This afternoon Y6 have been exploring different time periods to establish a Historical Timeline. They have added the time periods we have already studied in school and slotted in some of the other significant time periods from the past that they know about. We created ‘living timelines’ using the children to help!
What is your favourite fruit?
During our French, we have been learning basic language and how to spell them. The pupils have been working really hard and showing great progress.
Black history – politics
This month we have been looking at black history with a focus on politics. The pupils have learnt about ground breakers in politics from minority groups in Britain and the world as a whole. They then produced brilliant posters using their research.
Falklands war
What do we know about the Falklands war?
The pupils have been looking at the geography and history of the Falklands Islands and the war there with Argentina. Pupils spent a few lessons gathering facts and finding information to make posters or booklets around the war. This knowledge has been added to our recent learning around the more recent wars in British history as we make our way upto modern warfare!
World War One and Two
The pupils have dived into our first Year 6 topic. The pupils have enjoyed learning why the wars started and the knock on events.
